About the Schipperke

The Schipperke is a small, compact breed with a big personality. Known for its distinctive fox-like face, perky ears, and thick double coat, the Schipperke is a versatile and energetic dog. Often referred to as the “Little Captain,” this breed’s historical role as a barge dog is reflected in its loyal, independent nature and its keen alertness to its surroundings.

Typically weighing between 10 and 16 pounds, Schipperkes are the perfect size for active families and individuals.
